New York City DJ Jonathan Toubin is in critical condition after a runaway taxi crashed into his hotel room in Portland Oregon. Toubin was scheduled to perform that night.
Toubin is well known for his “New York Night Train” DJ series & “Soul Clap/ Dance Off” in NYC and has taken his act on the road including 2 performances at the Beachland this past year with DJ Hot Trash.
There will be a donation at the door & 100% of the proceeds will go to assisting with Jonathan’s hospital & medical bills. Like so many in our music and art scene he did not have health insurance. There will be a raffle (including a WCSB gift pack and the coveted WCSB Beer).
Line up -

DJ Party Sweat
DJ Alr!ght (Tom D.)
DJ Mr. Fishtruck
DJ Charles McGaw

On 12/23/11 John will have artist Derek Hess as his special guest on the Rock Rotation. They will be spinning 70s rock and talking about Derek’s new book. Tune in between 7pm and 9pm Friday.
Congratulations to “This is Metal” (Thursdays 5-7pm) host Bob Delchin, guitarist for “Alternate Reality”, whose “The King That Never Was” has been named by several national news outlets as the “Worst Video of 2011″. Yahoo elected it as NUMBER 1, topping Rebecca Black, George Michael and various horrible European rappers.
Over the years, WCSB DJs have been in many terrible garage bands but never has one of them gained national attention for being the worst of the year (and according to one site – “perhaps of all time”). Move over Spinal Tap, behold WCSB’s own Metal Bob in “the legend of King Arthur and his quest for the Kingdom of Metal.”
This holiday is yours but we, at WCSB, share with you the hope that this season brings us closer to freedom, harmony and peace. No matter how different we appear, we’re all the same in our struggles against the powers of evil and darkness. I hope that this will always be a season of joy, in which we can reconfirm our dedication, our courage and more than anything else our love our love for one and other. This is the promise of the tree of life.
Tune in to African Abstract ( Sundays 7pm-9pm) with Charleston Okafor as he visits with Abdou Mboup, renowned Senegalese musican.
